About Us

University of Ottawa Quidditch began when uOttawa student Tegan Bridge wrote an article for The Fulcrum called Quidditch for Muggles in which Carleton Quidditch’s team captain, Andrea Hill, challenged uOttawa students to put together a team. Tegan was soon joined by fellow uOttawa students Clare Hutchinson and Deirdre Walters, and on January 9th, 2011, uOttawa Quidditch held its first joint practice with Carleton’s team.

Since then, the team has grown and is now an official club of the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa and an official member of the International Quidditch Association. In October 2011 uOttawa Quidditch placed third in the first ever Canadian Cup. In November 2011, the team traveled to New York City to compete in the 2011 Quidditch World Cup V. Β This year, the team placed second in the Canadian Regional Championships and secured a bid to World Cup VI.

      Hi Anna!

We’re actually an official SFUO club. If you need to snail mail us, you can send us an e-mail at uo.quidditch@gmail.com and we can give you an address if you need one. In general, we do prefer to be contacted by e-mail, facebook, or Twitter.

We are an official SFUO club, but if you’d like to snail mail us, shoot us an email and we’ll give you the mailing address of one of our captains for speedier mail.
